The Differently-Abled Writer

time here. Click here to read why Jessica sees herself as
differently-abled.
Jessica Kennedy was nicknamed Squeaky. Her family and friends call her that.
She has three big sisters and as the youngest, she claims that "They saved
the best for last."
The four of them were known as "The Day Girls", because of their strange
names. From oldest to youngest, they are Mary Tomorrow, Yestraday Marie,
Taday Renelle, and Jessica Aday. They are well known in McKinney, Texas.
family before they got older than dirt.
Jessica thinks she was about 17.
Starting at the top left is Yestraday,
Tomorrow, and Aday (Jessica). Second
row bottom left is Lee (her mom), Mama
Nell (her grandma) and Taday.
taught every grandchild to give her pedicures.
When Jessica was 8, she used to pay her $.50 for
them.
Before she cut Jessica loose to go buy candy,
she'd insist on playing games. "You don't pay good
attention unless we play for money," she insisted. It
was a quarter a game. She usually won and Jessica
would lose the money, and couldn't get any candy.
This section of her website is designed for kids. Let her know what you like or
don't like and what you want to see. She wants you and your friends to visit and
have a good time. If you don't tell her your likes and dislikes, She'll have to
guess and may not give you what you want. Help her make this the type of
website you enjoy. If you leave suggestions, your first name and age is all that
will be posted with your's and your parent's permission.

"On August 12, 2008, I felt something in my right hand and wrist. There's only a
tiny bit of movement. I'm not feeling the movement, but I feel warmth. It's difficult
to move something I can't feel. I'm trying anyway. The trick seems to be watching
it," she said.
Jessica's faith has gotten stronger since her
stroke. Jessica is happier now than when she
was walking around. Jessica has always been
rushing from one thing to another. When she
became paralyzed, She didn't have a choice.
Jessica had to slow down. Jessica took the time
most people use to clean house, cook dinner and
care for children, to pray to God and reflect on
the choices in life available to her. How many
people have the time to read their Bible, pray
and serve others?
Did God Answer My Payer by Paralyzing me?
|
Maybe.
Before her stroke, She prayed desperately for God to show
her what my life was missing. It makes sense that that's why.
She thinks it would be hard for her not to be bitter or angry
with Him. She chooses not to believe that. She thinks she had
a stroke and became paralyzed and God is using those
circumstances to answer her prayer. Either way she's thankful
it happened.
How has it affected my walk with God?

Philippians 4:6 (New International Version)
"6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by
prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your
requests to God."
Jessica struggles to follow this verse. It's a hard one.
Romans 8:26-28 26 (New International Version)
"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We
do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit
himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot
express. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the
mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the
saints in accordance with God's will. 28 And we know that
in all things God works for the good of those who love
him, who have been called according to his purpose."
This verse gives her comfort and helps her when Jessica
pities herself and ask why.
2 Corinthians 12: 9 (New International Version)
"But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my
power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast
all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's
power may rest on me. "
In the months following her stroke, Jessica prayed to be
healed. God did not heal her physically. Jessica thinks this
verse explains why.
